The short version
- No account, no ads, no tracking cookies.
- Your game progress stays in your browser.
- YouTube loads only when you press play.
01Who is responsible
This site is a non-commercial fan project published by a private individual (see the Legal notice), who is responsible for the personal data described on this page. Contact: contact@gta6-emergency.com.
02What we collect when you browse
Nothing that identifies you. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking cookie, and this site sets no cookie at all.
Audience measurement
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device, and Cloudflare does not fingerprint you through your IP address, your browser or anything else. A small script measures how fast each page loads and tells Cloudflare which page it was, which site sent you there, your browser, operating system and type of device, and your country.
We only see totals, such as visits per page, per country or per browser, never who you are. Cloudflare does this on our behalf, as our processor. We do it because we have a legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read and how fast they load.
03Stored on your device
Some features save data in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device: it is never sent to us and we cannot read it.
| Key | What it holds | How long |
|---|---|---|
ge-theme | Night or Day theme, when you pick one | Until you clear it |
ge-banner | You closed the first visit banner | Until you clear it |
ge-daily | Spot the Vehicle progress, streak and stats | Until you clear it |
These only serve features you choose to use, so they need no consent banner. You can delete them at any time.
04Reports you send
When you report a sighting, we receive what you typed: the source, where it was posted (for another official Rockstar post), the timestamp or screenshot, the kind of vehicle, your description, and the optional link and name for the credits, with the time you sent it. Our database never stores your IP address, your browser or your country.
- We use a report only to check the sighting, file it on the site and credit you.
- We never use it for advertising, profiling or retargeting, and we never sell or share it. Cloudflare stores it on our behalf, as our host.
- To slow down spam, Cloudflare counts reports per visitor over one minute using your IP address, in its memory only; it is never written to our database. The site also accepts at most 30 reports an hour in total.
- Reports are deleted 12 months after we review them, or 12 months after they were sent if nobody reviewed them, by an automatic daily job. Obvious spam can be deleted sooner.
- If we file your sighting and you gave a name, that name is published as "Reported by" on the sighting page, in the changelog and in the RSS feed. The sighting and its credit stay on the site after your report itself is deleted.
We process reports because we have a legitimate interest in keeping an accurate catalog and crediting the people who help. You can object at any time by writing to contact@gta6-emergency.com with your report number: a report not yet reviewed is deleted, and a published name is removed from the site at its next update.
05Embedded videos
Videos show a preview image first. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. The player then loads from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google's privacy policy applies inside the player.
06Hosting and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare, Inc. (see the Legal notice). Like any web server, it processes your IP address to deliver pages and to block abuse. Cloudflare does this on our behalf, as our processor. We receive no logs of your visits: Cloudflare keeps no request logs for our site by default, and we have not turned them on. Requests that Cloudflare's security features block or challenge appear in our Cloudflare dashboard, with their IP address, for a limited time. Our own code keeps no request logs. If it fails while handling a report or the daily puzzle, it writes a short error note, never what you typed; Cloudflare keeps these notes for 3 days, with details of the request that failed, which can include your IP address and browser.
Cloudflare may process this data outside the European Union; it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Cloudflare's privacy policy).
07When you write to us
Mail sent to contact@gta6-emergency.com arrives in a mailbox at our email provider, which may store it outside the European Union with the safeguards the GDPR requires for such transfers. We use your address and message only to answer you, and delete them once the matter is settled.
08Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to restrict or object to its use. Write to contact@gta6-emergency.com; we answer within one month. Since we do not know who sends a report, give its number (for example R-0007).
You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
09Changes to this page
When something changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
