Rockstar has never published a list of GTA VI’s police forces. Everything we know comes from names painted on vehicles: on a trunk, a hull, a liftgate or a helicopter’s tail. Across every official trailer, screenshot and artwork, we have read seven. Together they draw a map that looks a lot like the real Miami area, where a city police department, a beach city’s own force and a county force share the same streets.
The figures as a table
| Group | Sightings |
|---|---|
| Vicebeach Police | 22 |
| Vice City Police | 7 |
| Ocean | 3 |
| Vice-Dale Police | 3 |
| Leonida County Sheriff | 2 |
| NOOSE | 1 |
| Mariana County Sheriff | 1 |
| No legible agency | 50 |
Only names we could read count. Every other sighting is under no legible agency.
Vicebeach Police
The busiest force in our catalog, with 22 sightings. It drives black and white cruisers with the long body of the 2015 to 2023 Dodge Charger Pursuit, badged BRAVADO BUFFALO in the Extended Look, and matching crew cab pickups. It also runs a gray patrol boat, seen in the May 2025 artwork.

The name reads like Miami Beach, the city across the bay from Miami, which has its own police department. Most of Vicebeach’s sightings come from the Extended Look’s downtown chase, so its numbers say as much about that chase as about the force.
Vice City Police
The city force of Vice City itself, with seven sightings. Its sedan is white with a dark blue stripe and a round emblem, on the body of the Taurus-based Ford Police Interceptor, and it has been in every trailer. The Ultimate Edition images add a blue-hulled boat lettered VICE CITY POLICE and, likely, a blue and gold helicopter.

Vice City has always stood for Miami, and the real city has its own police department, separate from the beach and the county.
Vice-Dale Police
The Vice-Dale Police have only one vehicle with their name on it so far: a white helicopter with a green tail and a gold badge, first seen in Trailer 2. A road sign in the same trailer names Vice-Dale County. The real county around Miami is Miami-Dade, whose county force drives green and white vehicles and has answered to an elected sheriff since January 2025.

That green and white points to Leonida’s most widespread police car, the white sedan with a thin green stripe and a gold badge. In one screenshot it chases Jason and Lucia directly under the Vice-Dale helicopter. We have never read a name on the car itself, so we file it with no legible agency, but Vice-Dale is the likely owner.
Vicebeach, Vice City and Vice-Dale: three names that line up with Miami Beach, Miami and Miami-Dade.
The sheriffs
Two county sheriff’s offices have names. The Leonida County Sheriff appears in Trailer 1, in green and white: a rounded sedan at a rainy gas station and a boxier Crown Victoria style cruiser by the billboards.

The Mariana County Sheriff has a single sighting, a white SUV with its name across the liftgate on a wooded road at night in the Launch Trailer. Trailer 2’s road sign had already pointed toward Mariana County.
Sheriff’s vehicles without a legible county are more common than either. There are the green and white SUV of Trailer 1 and a black Crown Victoria with gold markings in Trailer 2. Pale SUVs patrol the swamps and the Extended Look, and airboats marked SHERIFF appear in the August 2026 screenshots.
NOOSE
The armored truck in Trailer 2’s highway ambush is filed under NOOSE, the federal security agency of GTA IV and GTA V. It is the only NOOSE vehicle so far. Leonida’s tactical units otherwise go unnamed: dark SUVs and a tan pickup, and an officer whose vest reads POLICE STF in the Launch Trailer.

OCEAN lifeguards
The beaches belong to a lifeguard service whose red quads read OCEAN, with a second word ending in SCUE. Our guess is OCEAN RESCUE, the name of Miami Beach’s real lifeguard service, Miami Beach Ocean Rescue.
Who has no name yet
Several services show up without any legible name. A tan patrol car with a darker hood at the rollover crash in Trailer 1 looks like a highway patrol car. Black and tan is the color scheme Florida law sets for the Florida Highway Patrol. There is also a black police helicopter in the Extended Look, an all red rescue helicopter over downtown, a possible fire department pickup and one ambulance.
On November 19 the game will fill in the rest of the map. Each agency’s page lists every vehicle and sighting we have: start from Leonida’s agencies.
