Rockstar has not named a single GTA VI emergency vehicle. The closest thing to a name so far is a badge: BRAVADO and BUFFALO on the trunk of a Vicebeach Police cruiser, at 15:48 in the Extended Look. Every other match in this piece is one we made ourselves, the same way for each vehicle.
GTA has always built its cars on real ones and given them made-up names. So for each of the 34 vehicles in our catalog, we first decide which real vehicle it most resembles, from its body, roof line, lights and wheels. Then we look up which earlier GTA model was built on that same real vehicle, on GTA Wiki. When the two share a real ancestor, the GTA VI vehicle likely continues the older one. Each match stays labeled likely until the game is out.

The Crown Victoria lives on
GTA IV’s and GTA V’s default police car, the Vapid Stanier, was built on the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Ford stopped making the real one in 2011, and most US departments have since moved on. Leonida has not.

We have filed three Crown Victoria shaped vehicles so far. One is the green and white sheriff’s cruiser by the billboards in Trailer 1. Another is a black sedan in gold sheriff’s markings at the Trailer 2 street stop. The third is a set of white sedans with a blue stripe in the Extended Look’s last chase. GTA Online kept the shape alive too, with the Stanier LE Cruiser, a police Stanier based on the later Crown Victoria.

The Charger takes over
The car we see most is newer. Twenty-five sightings belong to two sedans with the long, low body of the Dodge Charger Pursuit sold from 2015 to 2023. One is the black and white Vicebeach Police cruiser, the other a white sedan with a thin green stripe and a gold badge.

GTA Online’s Bravado Buffalo STX Pursuit, which Rockstar released in April 2026, is based on that same Charger. It is also the only match with a name on screen to back it: the Extended Look shows BRAVADO and BUFFALO on a Vicebeach trunk.

The older Charger is here as well. The sheriff’s sedan at the rainy gas station in Trailer 1 has the rounded roof and long hood of the 2006 to 2010 model. That car was the base of GTA V’s Bravado Buffalo and its police version.

The Taurus in Vice City colors
The Vice City Police sedan has the squared roof and short tail of the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan, the Taurus-based car sold from 2013 to 2019. GTA V turned it into the Vapid Police Interceptor. A second Taurus wears another livery: a white sedan with a green stripe and roof numbers at the dirt bike intersection in Trailer 1.

Leonida’s police fleet looks like Florida’s in the 2020s, with a few older cars kept on. Most of them have a GTA ancestor.
Pickups and SUVs
The black and white Vicebeach Police pickup has the proportions of a Ram 1500 or a GMC Sierra crew cab. Both trucks went into GTA V’s Bravado Bison, which never had a police version.
The Mariana County Sheriff SUV from the Launch Trailer looks like a recent Chevrolet Tahoe. GTA V’s closest relative is the Declasse Granger, a Chevrolet Suburban lookalike whose police version was the Sheriff SUV.

The dark tactical SUV in the Extended Look’s second wave resembles a recent Dodge Durango. GTA Online’s Bravado Dorado Cruiser is a police Durango too, but built on the first generation from 1998.

Air and water
Police helicopters come in two shapes so far. The larger one, which the Vice-Dale Police fly in Trailer 2, looks like a Eurocopter AS350. That is the airframe behind GTA V’s Police Maverick, the series’ best known police helicopter. Real Miami-Dade police flew it too.

The smaller one, with a round cabin and skids, looks like an MD 500. GTA V used that family for the Buzzard Attack Chopper, based on the military AH-6. A police version would be a new role for it in the series. The rescue helicopter we filed from the screenshots resembles an AgustaWestland AW139, a bigger cousin of the AW109 behind GTA V’s Buckingham Swift.

On the water, the Vicebeach Police boat and the blue Vice City Police boat both look like a Boston Whaler Guardian, a rigid hull patrol boat. GTA V’s police boat, the Police Predator, was built on a different patrol boat, so this is a match by role rather than by real boat.
Heavier gear
The armored truck from Trailer 2’s highway ambush has the lines of a Lenco BearCat. GTA V’s Brute Police Riot sat on an International 4700 truck, but took its front end from the BearCat G3.

Lifeguards and the ambulance
The red lifeguard quads lettered OCEAN share their shape with the Blazer Lifeguard of GTA V and GTA Online, itself based on Honda’s utility ATVs. The lifeguard pickup on the beach in Trailer 1 looks like a Ford F-150 crew cab. GTA Online’s police Caracara Pursuit comes from the F-150 Raptor, the closest match in the series.

The only ambulance we have filed, from the Extended Look’s first seconds, is a Type III box ambulance: a box module on a van chassis. GTA IV and GTA V’s Ambulance is the same type of vehicle, on a Chevrolet Express 3500 chassis, so we list it as the likely ancestor.
What has no ancestor yet
Seven vehicles have no earlier GTA model we could find. The biggest group is the Ford Police Interceptor Utility, the Explorer-based SUV now common in US police fleets. Three of them are on file: a sheriff’s SUV in Trailer 1, a white SUV with a push bar from Trailer 2 onward, and a pale SUV from the Extended Look’s night chase. Between them they account for nine sightings, and we found no police Explorer in any earlier GTA game.

The other four are the sheriff’s airboats built for Leonida’s swamps, a fire department pickup, a beach pickup and a tactical pickup. Each pickup comes from a single sighting, too far away to match.
All 34 vehicles, each with a photo of the real vehicle where we have one, are on Real cars behind GTA 6 emergency vehicles.
