GTA VI’s helicopters are already busy. Across the trailers, screenshots and artwork we have filed five different aircraft in 13 sightings. They come in three shapes, and each one points to a real helicopter and to a model from GTA V.
The AS350: Leonida’s standard police helicopter
The larger police helicopter is the most common. It has a rounded cabin, skids and a slim tail boom, the profile of the Eurocopter AS350, now sold as the Airbus H125. GTA V turned that airframe into the Police Maverick, the series’ best known police helicopter.
Two liveries wear it. The first is the Vice-Dale Police helicopter, white with a green tail, a gold badge and green POLICE lettering. It chases a speedboat in Trailer 2 and flies over Jason and Lucia’s dirt bike in a 2026 screenshot.

The second is a dark gray helicopter with lighter upper panels, our most seen aircraft with six sightings. It hovers over the car meet in Trailer 1, over the swamp chase and the airboat standoff in the screenshots, and in the Jason and Lucia 02 artwork. We have never read a name on it.

The MD 500: small, round and armed
The second shape is smaller, with an egg-shaped cabin and skids: the MD 500 family. GTA V used that family for the Buzzard Attack Chopper, based on the AH-6, the armed military version. In GTA VI it flies for the police.
The first is a black helicopter with a white stripe and a small white badge. It dives into the Extended Look’s downtown chase, where a masked shooter opens fire on it.

The second is blue with gold stripes, a gold shield and lettering that begins VICE C, in one of the Ultimate Edition images. An armed person sits in its open door as it chases a speedboat at night, next to a Vice City Police boat. We read it as a likely Vice City Police aircraft.

Two airframes do most of the work: the AS350 of the Police Maverick and the MD 500 of the Buzzard.
A red rescue helicopter
The only aircraft that is not police is a red twin-engine helicopter crossing the skyline in the Vice City 03 screenshot. Its sleek nose and size fit the AgustaWestland AW139, a common air rescue type. It is a bigger cousin of the AW109 behind GTA V’s Buckingham Swift. It is far away and carries no legible markings, so it may also be civilian.

What we have not filed
GamingBolt describes Lucia firing a grenade launcher on police vehicles from a helicopter in the Launch Trailer. That aircraft is not in our catalog: in our frames we cannot see enough of it to file it, and nothing suggests it is an emergency helicopter. Nor are the civilian helicopters on the cover art and in the trailers.

Every helicopter we have filed, with every sighting, is in our vehicle files.
